Obama Pushes Off Payroll Tax Reform Promise

Here's the Associated Press in June:

Democrat Barack Obama said Friday he would apply the Social Security payroll tax to all annual incomes above $250,000, which would affect the wealthiest 3 percent of Americans.

It seemed like a pretty courageous stand at the time. But now we get this from Reuters today:

Barack Obama's presidential campaign said on Thursday a potential hike in payroll taxes for wealthy Americans under an Obama administration would not occur for 10 years.

So, not exactly a flip-flop, but not exactly a move that inspires a lot of confidence about Obama's willingness to go up against the millionaires he's now aggressively courting.

Yeah, and what did McCain say about payroll taxes for wealthy Americans?

We prob'ly won't NEED a payroll tax increase for SS for another 10 years.

Would rather keep our powder dry for more urgent health care reform/Medicare.

To be sure, Obama's pretty slick here. Enjoy it?

There was no debate when the creators of the constitution decided to deny the government the ability to establish an individual income tax. All of them were educated in classical history and were well aware that the ability to apply distraint against the individual for taxation ended in the destruction of those states. All previous democratic civilizations had evolved from tyranny to democracy to anarchy and back to tyranny, and all because the state had the ability to apply distraint against the individual(s) to demand taxes.

They calculated that if the federal government was restricted from taxing individuals, except as citizens of their various states and by census to establish a fair proportion, that it would avoid the apparently inevitable cycle of anarchy-tyranny-democracy-anarchy and the destruction of the system of representative democracy they were creating.

Unfortunately, our federal government is conducting business in direct contravention to the constitution; despite any effort to change it by the 16th Amendment, and since the requirement for census and apportionment remains. The only effect of the 16th is to change the status of a direct tax on the individual to that of being an "excise", but which has no effect in changing the other requirements necessary before any direct tax can be accessed against the individual.

... unless, of course, they do so voluntarily under our "Voluntary Individual Income Tax" ...

The federal government is actually criminal when they prosecute in federal courts, using IRS rules instead of the US Code.

I digress, because the actual destruction of states practicing unlimited democracy is due to the fact that the "majority" (mob) will insist on providing themselves with more and more benefits which must be paid for by .... who?

    The Rich!

When the rich run out of money, or move it to other more clement environments ... democracy becomes anarchy, and the emergency prisons being erected in Denver will become concentration camps when the mob has squeezed the evil rich out of existence ...

... but Democrats call themselves "Progressives" and won't acknowledge any guiding conservatism from a document and genius they are incapable of learning, or even of understanding; blinded by their all consuming cupidity and the hatred they use to justify their greed ...
