Discussion
It amazes me to see that so-called politically sophisticated people are surprised by Obama's recent votes on things like FISA, his comments on black men, and his change of view on NAFTA etc.
To me it was very apparent from how he voiced his opinions on issues that there was not much conviction in them. He was very good at preaching on change and hope etc., but the mannner that he addressed issues was anything but new. It is straight from the playbook of Clinton in 1992. What is ironic is that Obama out-Clintoned the Clinton's. One thing I will give Obama and his campaign, is that they are very good at playing the political game. I on the other hand, am tired of the political game and will be voting for Ralph Nader this year. I think the rise of a new policial movement is the only way to change our political system.
