So Much for Promises, Huh?
Here's the Politico today:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is about to lead her party into a major showdown over Iraq funding by violating two Democratic campaign pledges in one fell swoop...This week's maneuvering over a $200 billion war spending bill has revealed Pelosi self-confidently playing what she believes -- with increasing evidence -- is a strong hand. Strong enough that she is expected to break one promise -- her 2006 pledge for a more open and inclusive committee process -- by circumventing the powerful House Appropriations Committee on the Iraq bill. And when the final Iraq bill reaches the president's desk, any troop withdrawal conditions are likely to be gone from the legislation. That is another 2006 pledge that has fallen by the wayside.
What a way to build trust, huh?

Enough is enough!
The entrenched Democratic elites must be having a real hard time realizing that their way of life is coming to an end. If Pelosi believes that it is the strength of their ideas and convictions that is driving people to the polls in these primaries, how sadly mistaken she, and the rest of her ilk, must be.
The Dems should and probably will take over the government in DC this fall. What they don't seem to yet realize is that those who remain addicted to the crack cocaine of politics, corporate money, and who not do what is best for the American people, will be following their Republican counterparts out the door in 2010!
Well, what else did you expect from the Dems? Trust them and you're betrayed anyway. Why bother voting for this party anymore when they're going way out of their league to out-GOP the GOP? GrantBurkeVT and waltc sure had reasons to show their anger against the feeble attitude of the rank-and-file letting their party leaders abuse them. I have a song for all those who keep voting Democrat or Republican despite the fact that their votes will be ABUSED. It's a band named SilverChair and the song is titled "Abuse Me". Just do a search for it on youtube and you can enjoy watching the music video and perhaps learn something invaluable from the song.
