Is this a surprise? What is a bigger surprise is that Bush gets away with ruining any possible reconciliation with Russia with his foreign policy. Clinton ruined it post cold war with bringing Poland and the Czech Republic into NATO and now Bush is pushing to bring Ukraine and Georgia into NATO. How can anyone perceive this as anything but hostile intent? And what are any of those pipsqueak states to do for us compared with a nuclear missile armed Russia? Not a peep against this continuing insanity of Bush to wreck our country. Our presidents are foreign policy idiots. This should be a major issue. Not a peep from the media so they must be too. God help us. In my opinion, alienating Russia at a time it wanted to be friendly was Clinton's biggest blunder and maybe the biggest diplomatic blunder in our history. So of course Bush has to trump this in spades. God help us for our incompetent leaders and media.
Our foreign policy idiots of both parties are owned by the corporate and military interests. But then again, none of the pols in Washington care about the safety of the American working class much less the Columbian.
