Clinton: Americans Love to Get Crapped On - Obama Is "Elitist" For Saying Otherwise
Here's what I don't understand about the "controversy" now brewing about Barack Obama saying people are bitter when they get thrown out of work and sold out by politicians: Is Hillary Clinton saying people are totally psyched they've had that happen to them? Sounds that way.
I really don't get this. Obama is supposedly an "elitist" and "out of touch" for stating a truism: that when people get treated like crap by corporations and politicians, they get bitter. But I'd say the elitists and the out of touch are Washington insiders who are so comfortably insulated from accountability that they have convinced themselves that when they crap all over Americans, Americans respond with an elated "thank you, may I have another?"
Has the political discussion in this country become so cartoonishly absurd that it is "controversial" to say that when people get taken advantage of, people get upset?

Come on Dave, Barry the Ignorant speaking to a big crowd of richard Dem 'donors', read bribers for that, and says in effect....
'Those people....
'Those people' are so ignorant that they'd rather cling to their gun ownership and churchiness than face the facts and become willing corporate slaves.
And you had to love the 'successive administration's....' foot in mouth.
Look, if you haven't red Barry the Ignorant's books. The man is pathetically ignorant of American political history which he proved with this speech to any objective observer.
Obama's lumping together of God/guns/immigrants/trade was a flubb that pissed EVERYone off.
Dave, McClintons' lies and BS are no excuse for Barry.
Wow another "typical white person" remark from the Messiah. What a uniter.
Look Barry Hussein Obama is a elitist and his remarks are insulting as hell to folks who actually work for a living and been squeezed by corporate America. Not to mention showing how isolated Obama is from most of America.
I mean here's a man at 47 years old has only worked for a living only a few years. Most people by that age have worked for almost 30 years.
The man has led a very isolated life.
He doesn't get that gun ownership is part of American culture.
He doesn't get that faith is part of white working class American culture.
And its bizarre that he should condemn the faith of the white working class when he himself is proud of his 20 year friendship with a hate monger and bigot like Reverend Wright.
Barry isn't very smart, nor well traveled and certainly knows very little about the people that he wants to represent as president.
I am just sitting here on a Saturday afternoon reading through my e-mails. I always look forward to your articles. It is just nice to know that someone like you is out there trying to inform people. I just wish there were enough people with open minds. It is sad and scary to see how every little piece of irrelevant information is dissected while the major, life-changing issues are never addressed. It is depressing to see how the Democratic party is so divided and petty. We need to get together and change this country so that we do indeed have a future.
This is exactly why I'm sick and tired of this primary now. The long wait between last month and the PA primary is a real drag. I'm sick and tired of the Clinton "kitchen sink" strategy. I'm sick and tired of the "controversy" of Obama's minister. I couldn't care less what he thinks.
I'm sick and tired of this "working white class" man doesn't "get" Obama, or does Obama "get" them theme.
Based on income and job (retail slave), I'm a "working class white man". But that doesn't mean I love guns, drive a beat up pickup truck, chew tobacco, smoke cigarettes, drink beer, hate anyone who isn't white and straight, or any other stereotypical "working class white man" trait. If that makes me an "elitist" to anyone, I couldn't care less. I'm an "economic populist" or a "progressive populist" who prefers to just call myself "liberal". So be it.
I'm a "working class white" Ohioan who proudly voted for Barack Obama, although I'm now sick to death of this primary and don't even care who wins. I'm sure that's part of Hillary's "strategy". Piss people off so bad that they just want the whole thing to end.
Both Hillary and Obama are pieces of elitist SHIT ! Sirota boy will just have to come to grips with the fact that the party is going to LOSE VERY BIG BIG BIG come November !! The Democrats BETRAYED its base and everyone else who wanted even a small change for the better and now the voters are going to do to the Democrats what Paul Kersey did to the muggers. DEATH WISH VI: THE FINAL COLLAPSE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY !
votenader.org !!
P.S.:
JWVerez brought up an interesting point that Ralph Nader talked about. The rank and file progressives and liberals act like a bunch of ABUSED dogs and rollover to the DemoSHITz despite the fact that they have been repeatedly FUCKED !! When the FUCK will the progressives and liberals get their shit together and go 3rd party ?!?!? The two-party duopoly happens for this very reason and it's time to STOP it !!
People are bitter. They're bitter about getting the shaft from their government for the last 8 years. It's not elitist to state that fact.
As written on Kos,
"You want elitism? Try being married to an heiress to a beer distribution fortune and being stuck in the most exclusive club on earth inside the beltway for the past twenty years. THAT'S elitism.
You want elitism? Try making $109 million over the past six years and running for President by virtue of the fact that your husband has already been President. THAT'S elitism."
McCain and Clinton are far more elitist than Obama ever was.

Obama is dead on right! People are very bitter that their government has been taken away from them. This will totally backfire on Clinton...if she really believes what she is saying then it is she that is out of touch...
Her husband's policies in the long term have not been good for working Americans. Her totally selfish, botched, attempt at health care reform set back the movement toward health care for all, by at least 15 years...and now we learn that she and Bill made $109 million over the last 7 years while working Americans had real wages decline, their homes put in danger of being repossesed, and their jobs shipped off to China....
So Obama's not an elitist, eh?
So let's just overlook Obama's SHADY ties to TONY REZKO. LYING about being poor and STEALING $3.5 from Lebanon to fund political campaigns? And Obama let it happen until Tony got BUSTED and he isn't done yet.
Or what about the controversial Pastor Wright using millions of dollars of taxpayer money to own his own mansion? Oh I'm so fucking sure the voters in Cooke County especially the blacks will appreciate the fact that he's living the life of a rich white man all the while criticizing it.
He may not have raised as much money as Hillary or Mccain but he's no less of an elitist.
Now here's a real progressive indy who doesn't take corporate cash and never backs down unlike Obama.

Obama is in trouble for telling the truth - again. The one unforgiveable sin in politics. "The people" can't handle the truth. What about saying that the great unwashed has been bamboozled into voting God, guns and gays over their own economic self-interest is in any way controversial? Obama was right not to back down for telling the truth - not least because those knuckledraggers aren't going to vote for him anyway. And yeah, I'm an "elitist" too. So be it.
Wow Dave. I had no idea so many misinformed people read your blog. Must make you feel special.
McCain isn't going to win in November. And if you're still voting for Nader you need to have your head examined.
Obama was honest. And honestly, most people agree with him - they do feel bitter. He could have phrased it differently, but I think that the poles show appropriately how much this affected him. Despite Hillary's rootin' tootin' shootin' cowgirl past, Obama is still ahead in the poles. America is tired of having cowboys run the White House, they're ready for a complete regime change. Obama is capable of bringing it.
As for all the illegal campaign contributions he supposedly received and the stolen money from Lebanon, I think those posters would do well to turn off Fox News (and I use the word News generously.) Get your facts straight before you go posting shit that isn't true.
Dave - I still think you're wrong about Pelosi and the Columbians, but maybe you've heard something I haven't (and my sources are on the inside)
