Will Obama Drop the NAFTA Hammer?
"Mrs. Clinton will deploy her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to campaign in both states, particularly in Ohio, where her advisers believe his popularity will help her with working-class voters, labor union members and black voters."
If ever Obama was going to really hammer NAFTA and China PNTR and the Clinton trade model, now is the time. With Bill Clinton heading to Ohio, it seems reminding voters of those Clinton-backed atrocities would be a very smart tactical move.

You're joking right?
Obama says nothing about China's PNTR. On NAFTA all he says it needs is some tweaking with input of course from Mexico and Canada(which sounds like much ado about nothing).
He's is in fact a big supporter of increasing the number of H1-B, H-2, and L-1 visa workers. And the coup de grace is his support for legislation that would turn our colleges into green card factories for foreign college students who graduate with a B.S. or above.
He does nothing to punish American companies who off-shore American jobs.
Oh I love his solution for Americans losing their jobs - retraining!!!! the snake oil that fixes everything. Lose your $20 a hour factory job and you too can be retrained to work as a sandwich assembler or Wal-Mart worker and compete with illegal aliens for jobs that pays minimum wage and has no benefits or future.
And if you over 40 - fuck off and die. Because thats whats happens to older workers who get retrained, no one wants them.
In short Obama is a labor arbitrage warrior.
Oh to make matters worse, he doesn't address China's importing of toxic goods and food goods or the American companies that import them. There is nothing to show he supports a strengthened FDR and CPSC to protect American consumers at all.
Guess Obama likes toys with lead in them and others with GHB and our pets being poisoned.
I can only hope Obama crashes and burns in Texas and Ohio.
PFFTT !!!! LOL !!! LOL !!!
Dave man, you gotta be fucking kidding me if you really expect Obama to say no to those KILLton-passed deals especially now that there are no more candidates against these trade deals left and Obama voted yes to more NAFTA extension ! Besides, remember your article "Obama Goes to Washington" where you pointed out that Obama has no intention of change the structure of the uber-corrupt system ? Like Slick Willie, even if he made it to the White House and came against it, he'd wait a month or two and pretend to compromise by going after those phoney whoopty-doo pols and then cave in to K-Street thereby further pissing off the base !!
P.S.: You are right though when you could say that for example out here in South Carolina, us rednecks will look at Obama as a LATTE "liberal" YUPPIE ELITE because Obama will continue to live up to that libel. Yeah, it's true that 4 out of 10 rednecks in SC would vote Obama if Obama could prove to them that yes, he fight to abolish NAFTA, WTO, GATT, FTAA, CAFTA, China PNTR, etc ... So far however, his "faith and hope" bullshit talk is just rubbing salt against our wounds thanks to Bush and Clinton policies of "free" trade putting us out of work and drowning us further in poverty.
Also, one of my neighbors had an Obama for President sticker on his Volvo and next to it another sticker saying "Vote Hope and Faith. Vote Obama". Another of my neighbors didn't like Obama and while swearing took a jack hammer and busted the cars behind where the stickers were at. Much as I don't excuse this kind of vandalism, I can see how angry and fed up he was with all this "hope and faith" bullshit that all of us have been duped into for the past 40 years with nothing to show for it.
Obama voted for the Peru NAFTA extension deal not too long ago. Even if brought up NAFTA, Hillary will easily smack him back pointing out his hypocritical vote for more NAFTA.
waltc, don't forget to include Pennsylvania to the crash list, also a victim of free trade. My husband reminded me that Ed Randell strongly supports Hillary so I wouldn't be surprised to see him fighting for her.
Obama is a corporatist in progressive clothing, and he's an expert dog whistler, but he's unlikely to challenge the Clintons on economic issues. It might frighten his corporatist backers.
