Amen.
But even John Edwards leads his education agenda with:
"Expanding Opportunity Through College for Everyone"
The ivy chokehold of our political leadership is nowhere near apparent to most folx.
Hope your new book sheds more light here.

I am assuming that Edwards proposes to make college education affordable for everyone so they can have the option of enriching their education without worrying about the money. There are people who truly do want to improve their education in life and I know I was one of them going all the way to Masters. Now, I will agree that it is unclear as to whether Edwards is out to tackle employers who ABUSE the excuse that "lack of education" is the reason they happily ship jobs overseas when the reality is that these same employers happily lay off workers regardless of their educational background and even work experience. So far, like Bill Clinton, he has yet to clarify. Can David Sirota or someone pass this to the Edwards camp?
Edubiz controls the supply of matriculation to ensure hyper-inflation of tuition costs. Like any other "mill", underpaid or indentured Asians will beat you every time.
But OK, let's say US workers bit the bullet and subsidized "college for all" through higher taxes. We'd have millions more biz/finance majors trained to (you guessed it) outsource the jobs of the workers who payed for all this schooling.
As fully degreed workers/managers constitute an ever larger portion of our work force, our prosperity (and posterity) ratchet downwards.
If the corporatists need fresh waves of mid-level taskmasters and outsourcers, shouldn't THEY pay for all this "enriching"?

Our first MBA president has challenged our generation of academics: "Is our children learning?"
Edwards is full of it as usual.
He reeks of insincerity and should have stayed with his hedge fund buddies.
The thing is not everyone wants to or needs a 4 year degree and given that he refuses to condemn labor arbitrage in the form of H1-B and L-1 guest worker visa programs makes the college for all program a joke.
Hey what happened to that late evening post from Sirota yesterday about Hillary where she insulted those screwed by NAFTA?
Speaking of the education myth, everytime on the radio, the sleazy "SYLVAN Prometric" commercial pops up claiming that their private enterprise can help students get "better grades". The reality is that we taxpayers are already paying to have public schools do their homework. In addition, these sleazy commercials happily shield negligent/ignorant parents who are often the culprit of their kids performing poorly in school. In truth, education is already undergoing mass privatization as if corrupt "religious" private schools hadn't done enough of it already.
