Those 1992 Memories...
In the middle of a typically fulminating piece about how Democrats daring to question free trade fundamentalism will supposedly mean the Apocalypse, Financial Times' columnist Edward Luce undercuts his entire argument and reminds us of the real history behind the DLC-style revisionism about Clinton's supposed "centrism":
"Some draw parallels with Mr Clinton’s 1992 election campaign in which he promised to link the annual renewal of China’s 'most favored nation' trading status to improvements in human rights. That pledge, along with other more populist elements of his campaign rhetoric, was shelved by the end of his first term. 'There is nothing in the 2008 campaigns that is as strong as Bill Clinton’s promise to link trade with China to human rights,' says one economist."
So again, though the candidates are sounding populist, nothing they are saying is stronger than Clinton, and when Clinton was elected the Apocalypse didn't happen. Additionally, though Wall Street Democrats would have us believe Clinton ran for office in 1992 on a so-called "centrist" platform promising to sell out America's middle class to K Street and that such a platform thus is the way to win elections, it's clear that - as I have noted before - Clinton ran as a populist, and only sold out after he was in the White House.

When will the Republicans drop the bomb on the Clintons as to all of their assistance to Red China in regard to our Intermediate range missile designs and the nose cone technology all hidden in a commerce bill thanks to Ron Brown..
Then there is the sake of the Super computers Red China needed to test and build our stolen arsenal and miniaturize the warheads and then giving the son of the Red Chinese missile core a job right where he needed to be to steal the software Red China needed to use with the super computers to test and build our stolen nuclear arsenal including the neutron bomb that China had stolen and are now fitted to these intermediate range missiles..that have a range of up to 3,200 miles and the seal launch version up to 3,800 miles..
Is this the ace in the hole the Republicans are holding back that they will drop in a timely fashion after Hillary has the Democratic nomination so as to assure her defeat in 2008 and keep a Republican in the White House..?
Then there are the reported meetings Hillary herself had with Red Chinese Generals while first lady..
These facts are not well known by the general public but could be exposed at just the right time to destroy the Democratic hopes for the White House..
They have always been one reason I will not support the Clinton campaign it may very well be our ruin due to all of this..
The "free" trade fundies are pathological liars and pigs to boot. They only care about their personal enrichment and thats it. They don't care that their riches came from slaves, criminals and children.
In previous centuries you'd find them as slave owners.
In a sane society they would be hunted to extinction for the general welfare of all.
Oh David, I HATE 1992 as it brings back memories of my son's tragic financial collapse and death ! That damn Bill Clinton was a good for nothing LIAR just like Bush. Thanks to all this "free" trade and war, my son lost not only his good employment but his LIFE ! I'd like to take a stone and throw it on Bill Clinton's head and THRASH him ! And then I'd like to THRASH Bush as well and put that war dodger in Bagdad where he belongs !
Clinton ran as a populist, and only sold out after he was in the White House.
The whole Clinton presidency in fifteen words.
