Once the Democrats prove they believe in nothing and fight for nothing. Basically a party of gutless wonders.
BTW this is why the GOP has such a easy time painting the Democrats as weak on security and why it sticks. The Democrats radiate weakness.
And let the SUPERDEFEAT of the Democratic Party begin !!! HASTA LA VISTA Democrats !!!
There's nothing to replace the Democratic party. The third parties are all fly-by-night outfits that only come out during presidential campaigns to act as spoilers for the Republicans.
The Republicans have allowed the neo-cons to destroy them through corruption and malfeasance so that they're no longer a viable party.
If we don't take back the Dems, we've got nothing.
There's a reason I refuse to contribute to anything the national party's doing. I will support the individual candidates of my choice, and if necessary, I will write in the Democrat of my choice.
It's time we took back the Democrats, and returned the party to the people.

butte, the Democrats have pretty much thrown out everything they were supposed to represent. Even voting to elect supposedly populist Democrats hasn't helped either. Third parties are already irrelevant as both the Democrats and Republicans have happily rendered them. Like Walmart, once the competition is out, they're free to crush us and that's what they're doing. I'd much rather not waste a few precious hours of my work time voting between two pathetic major parties or even some totally unknown 3rd party candidates. I seriously doubt that there'll be any difference between who gets picked office after office in the forseeable future. My wife and I have had it with voting after last year's trouble each of us took from work to vote for Webb. I'd rather not be depressed by not voting at this point. :(

I no reason to invest effort or money in a party thats abandoned all pretenses of being the peoples party.
And I suspect so do a lot of other folks who supported the party in '06 only to get the shaft do so as well.
As to reforming the party, there is no movement from the rank and file to vote out the hundreds of crooks within the party. Even worse millions of mouthbreathing yellow dog Democrats are about to annoint the uber corporate whore Hillary as their candidate which only affirms that the Democrats are dead as the peoples party.
And if Hillary wins she'll finish what her bastard husband started - that is destroying the country.
