Can You Blame America For Thinking They All Represent The Same Problem?
Reading two stories back to back, can you really blame Americans for thinking presidential candidates represent the same appendages of a corporate monster? Check out this story and then just look at this link to see what I mean.

Hillary's Chairman Mao jacket really looks good on her not to mention quite appropriate for a power hungry person.
Obama was exposed quite well by Sirota himself some time back in a series of articles. The CT article only validates Sirota's initial research.
IMO Obama and Hillary are working very hard at proving to the public that there is no difference between them and the GOP.
The other aspect to this but is unsaid, is the Democrats changing base. Where at one time the Democrats used to represent the blue collars and middle-class they don't any more when you look at the popularity of Hillary and Obama. 30 years ago Obama and Hillary couldn't make it to first base when you had blue-collars as your core voter group. But Clinton drove them off and replaced them with upscale urbanites(urban metrosexuals and opera attendees) who now dominate party politics and the machine itself.
To me this is only reason why Obama and Hillary are so popular and never get cornered by voters on their positions on "free" trade, H1-B visa workers, etc.
The party of FDR is no more.
Hah...hah...I beat you to this one....
Here is mine....
The true leader of the party of FDR is campaigning at this very moment and if you are more than a concern troll you will get behind him and help him win.
It's essential.
His name?
John Edwards.

The true leader of the party of FDR is out on the campaign trail and if you are more than a concern troll you will join him.
His name is John Edwards.

A. Citizen, if I was Edwards I wouldn't want a backer who interferes with free speech or was that on FDR's platform? Edwards deserves better. Waltc is right on, although isn't it tilting windmills to think a party should be the party of blue collars when they are almost as extinct as the carrier pidgin? The primary situation is akin to the twilight zone. I don't think either Clinton or Obama have a chance of winning if the GOP put up an attractive candidate. In fact, their whole field are losers. I guess we're doomed. This whole business backing smells of a Rove setup. They know neither of the two leaders can win.
Blue collar workers extinct? Not hardly. They've been down graded to service workers as their jobs got sold to the lowest bidder overseas, but there are thousands of working families out there and they need to be represented. They need health care and they need decent wages. They and the foreign workers who are at the receiving end (as in short end of the stick) of the "free" trade agreements need fair wages, and environmental and job safety protections that the rich and greedy corporations are seeking to avoid with these very expensive "free" trade agreements.
As for a viable Republicans candidate? There isn't one.
Neither Hillary nor Obama are going to represent working Americans or anybody except the K-street corporations.
I'm voting for Edwards even if I have to write him in. The majority of Americans aren't the snobby urbanites, they are the blue collar working people. We need to take our party back.
Butte
Of course blue-collars aren't extinct but they've been punished and beaten down something fierce by trade and industrial policies.
Though if Hillary or Obama become the nominee. You'll see the blue-collars walk away from the Democratic party altogether. Much like they did when Gore then Kerry(aka Bush 2.0) were the nominees.
And G-d help us if we get another Republican sociopath as Preznit, the monster will finish what Bush and Clinton started - destroying the country and its people.
That said, the popularity of Hillary and Obama is baffling given their corporate credentials. In party of working class folks both shouldn't even be in the top 3 but here they are. Even the working class Democrats I know(mostly women and minorities) don't like Hillary or Obama and support Edwards. I just get the feeling that the folks I know aren't the majority of the party anymore.
I hope though I'm wrong and Edwards pulls off a win.
Speaking of blue collars, why is everyone ignoring the H2A and H2B workers, who are brought in here b the hundreds and treated like slave labor?
They are cheated by the recruiters in their own countries, and by the employers here, who have pretty much a life and death hold on them.
If they protest their treatment they are deported without any hearing, and then they stand to loose their homes and whatever else they have when they get back to their own countries because the recruiters are basically loan sharks who charge them as much as $5K to come to this country to work.
H1 workers are professionals and semi professionals with rights, H2 workers are peons who have sold their lives into a modern version of slavery to the unscrupulous.
butte,
Any worker associated with H2x is automatically demonized just like back in the old days, anyone who was colored was automatically demonized while the elite traitors kept laughing their ways to the bank. Most folks who are angry about people coming on an H2x Visa don't know anything about the cheating recruiters in their own countries. As a Mississipian who grew up in the most racist areas of the deep south, I can tell you it ain't pretty.
butte
I could also ask why no one gives a shit when American workers are displaced by imported foreign workers as well.
Or why Democrats refuse to stop bringing in H1-B workers whose main purpose is drive down wages and benefits for American workers.
SEIU much?
And Mr.ewode I got one name for ya and one name only....
