That's why I've liked Edwards all along. Unfortunately, we now live in a Corporate State in which the Corporatives (= "special interests" like Halliburton, Exxon-Mobil, Wal-Mart, Blue Cross, the media, the church, etc) band together to make the decisions for the country and to watch out for one another.
So look for the "liberal" media to give more and more reports on the higher and higher costs of his haircuts.
How about this, David?

Both Edwards and Kucinich articulate what most ordinary people feel, but sadly I can't see them actually reaching a majority of voters.
The Hillarys and Obamas with their rock star campaigns, but little of substance to appeal to the basic working (if they still have a job) class, will still win because they have so much money, and because the voters are still basically lazy slobs who don't want to bother learning about the issues. Really depressing...
Memo to David Sirota: Practice what you preach.
Take the Pledge
All Presidential Candidates should make pledges like those below. If they refuse, then you should refuse to vote for them.
1. No More Oil Wars.
2. Work for independence from foreign oil on day one.
3. No more wars for corporate profit.
4. No more secret deals for $4 per gallon gas.
5. No more Chicken Hawks promoting wars of choice when they themselves avoided combat.
6. Make government green--if you can't make what you have the most control over green, I don't care about your plans to make the country green.
7. No more torture.
8. No more lying about torture.
9. No more re-defining torture.
10. No more drunken hunting.
11. No more secret deals with big corporations to divide up the spoils before the war even starts.
I like Edwards speech but don't expect any of the corporate owned Democrats like Hillary, Obama or Biden to say anything like that. They've made their bed with K Street and thats that.
And thats also why Edwards is so marginalized by the MSM. Because of his populist leanings and criticizing big business.
When it comes to delivering a message of hope with sheer conviction and integrity, John Edwards really appears to be the second coming of JFK.
Unlike other declared or undeclared hopefuls, there is something undeniably 'convincing' about the way the successful former trial lawyer, John Edwards, says he "will enforce" pro-worker laws under an Edwards administration. But, Edwards brings no baggage (puhleese, the haircut thing has already been played out by the media seventh-grader patrol), and the corporate elite historically have not trusted trial lawyers... so it will be interesting to learn the circumstances as to if and how the golden ropes will open up for him.
I have said this before and I will say it again: Who else but a successful trial lawyer with character and integrity to stick it to "The Man"?
It's not the economy, stupid. IT'S YOUR JOB!

Him and Kucinich both. Edwards is haircut boy and Kucinich is the weird little dwarf. Did you see the intro to Dennis' speech though? Jay Leno needs to meet Kucinich's wife. The "Keebler Elf" has something goin' on, for serious, something not necessarily obvious to the likes of Leno.
Speaking of wives, the single significant reason I tend to like Edwards is because of Elizabeth. Period. Can anyone honestly say we wouldn't be better off, right now, with Elizabeth Edwards in the White House?
John still looks too "slick", using that stupid faux Kennedy thumb-on-top Fist of Emphasis, but you can bet someone like Elizabeth has him on a tight leash.
Want to projectile vomit, just for fun? Close your eyes, think of Elizabeth Edwards, and experience the feelings of genuineness, sincerity, and character that her presence induces.
Now visualize Hillary.
Welcome to the wonderful world of bulimia.

I'm not sure if they're showing it again this weekend on C-SPAN, but this whole speech by Edwards in front the Steelworkers was very good. Especially the Q&A period at the end. I haven't found it on C-SPAN.org yet, but when they post the whole thing, it will be worth the watch.

FYI to Sirota, you and your loser "progressive" candidates like Edwards are guilty of "hate-speech". That's what your new Denver cohort Mike Rosen sez:
"...the term "corporation" is little more than a hate-speech surrogate for their real target: private enterprise. Some form of socialism is their ultimate goal."

(I have a funny story about what this guy said to me off-air when I was on his radio show during the NAFTA vote run-up, but I'll save it. Let's just say he's more of a tool than his columns suggest. Believe it.)
