Stay in the West? Last time I looked, the Denver area had succeeded from the West and become a suburb of California.
Oh, well, at least you're only a day's drive from reality.

Listen Mr. Sirota. I knew the Best Dog in the World. The Best Dog in the World was my friend. And your dog "Monty" is no... ah well, nevermind.

"the Denver area had succeeded from the West" - butte

This is true. Just remember, the Denver - Aspen/Vail axis is not Colorado. And neither is The People's Republic of Boulder. Neither is Colorado "If Jesus was a Nazi..." Springs. (I believe Colorado Springs has more fish on the back of its cars than Colorado state has in its streams, rivers, and lakes.)

If you go down to Pueblo I'm sure you'll find a couple of senile old "labor" Democrats who won't hesitate to beat your ass with a placard if you remind them of a scab they once terrorized...

Come to think of it, you pretty much have to be at least 25 miles from any population center to find the "real" Colorado. Just go to the mountains, get on a dirt road, and when you see a hand-painted sign that reads something like, "You hunt on my propurtie and I hunts yer familly!!", and you're there.

And make sure "Monty" is wearing an orange vest...
