Rocky Mountain News On Me, Emily & Monty
The Rocky Mountain News publishes a Q&A with me today about my move to Denver, Democratic Party politics out here in the West, and my dog Monty. The piece includes a photo of me, my wife Emily and Monty in our backyard here in Helena. Check out the piece here, and please, keep your Monty insults to yourself - he's the best dog in the world. My big mistake in this article was not staying on message by portraying Monty as a ferocious, fire breathing populist beast undeterred by the big money interests at the American Kennel Club...oh well, my bad.

"Let Loose the Dogs of War..!"
Class War..!
Stay in the West? Last time I looked, the Denver area had succeeded from the West and become a suburb of California.
Oh, well, at least you're only a day's drive from reality.
Listen Mr. Sirota. I knew the Best Dog in the World. The Best Dog in the World was my friend. And your dog "Monty" is no... ah well, nevermind.
"the Denver area had succeeded from the West" - butte
This is true. Just remember, the Denver - Aspen/Vail axis is not Colorado. And neither is The People's Republic of Boulder. Neither is Colorado "If Jesus was a Nazi..." Springs. (I believe Colorado Springs has more fish on the back of its cars than Colorado state has in its streams, rivers, and lakes.)
If you go down to Pueblo I'm sure you'll find a couple of senile old "labor" Democrats who won't hesitate to beat your ass with a placard if you remind them of a scab they once terrorized...
Come to think of it, you pretty much have to be at least 25 miles from any population center to find the "real" Colorado. Just go to the mountains, get on a dirt road, and when you see a hand-painted sign that reads something like, "You hunt on my propurtie and I hunts yer familly!!", and you're there.
And make sure "Monty" is wearing an orange vest...
I think Monty is handsome. Shame on the Rocky Mtn. News!
Welcome to Denver and to Colorado!
