K Street to Rangel: "Keep the Party Going!"
As House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-NY) continues to push a secret package of trade deals, K Street lobbyists are throwing him a big party for his birthday. Matt Stoller at MyDD has the email that went out about the bash, and notice the subject line telling Rangel to "keep the party going!" You may recall that lobbyists threw Montana Sen. Conrad Burns (R) a big birthday bash last year, and it became a major source of national ridicule. Rangel's birthday bash is less ridiculous and more humiliating, considering Democrats, unlike Republicans, ran their 2006 campaign specifically against pay-to-play corruption.

Discussion
Like I said Rangel can be brazen about his whoring because he knows his base won't vote him out. They'll keep re-electing him until the day he dies like Strom Thurmond or D.C. goes up in a nuclear cloud.
We can't hold it against Rangel. He simply realizes before most of us that the Democracy is dead and has been replaced by a Corporate State (Mussolini's favored term for Fascism). After all, it's the Corporatives (the industries, businesses, media, and church) that call the shots.
When was the last time your voice mattered? Was it when Harry and Louise (the produce\t of cooperation between the pharmaceutical and media Corporatives) convinced you that you didn't need a single payer system that would only have been in your best interest? See, they've got to us, too!
