Why I'm Predisposed to Liking John Edwards

This about sums it up - anyone who is hated by the Beltway elites is probably doing something right:

"When I did my profile of the guy, Chuck Todd, who's got a pretty good sense for these sorts of things, marveled to me, 'for some reason he's pissed off half of DC. I can't tell you why, I don't know. But half of the Democratic elite here in DC just hate John Edwards. It's amazing, some of it's irrational, and the Edwards people know it and see it as a badge of honor, somewhat. Maybe they feel like it's because he didn't play ball, maybe they feel like he forced himself onto the ticket, that he was too brazen in how he campaigned for that second slot. There's no one rational reason, but there's a not insignificant clique of elites in DC who are not Edwards fans, and who are borderline irrational about it.'"

You better believe this is true if it comes from Chuck Todd - one of the original Old School Beltway Elites.

Sounds like an endorsement to me.
Now let's identify some good populist legislative candidates who will back him up and get rid of as many Republi-lites as possible.

So does this mean that for "balance", the bottom end of the ticket should be someone that the beltway elites are comfortable with?

I'm thinking that Edwards/Obama happens if there is a brokered convention and Obama holds enough candidates to put Edwards over the top ... but since he is so comfortable inside the beltway, and people inside the beltway are so much more comfortable with "new politics" rhetoric as opposed to serious reform policies, he might also be a beltway elite headache pill.

Could we come up with a shorthand for referring to the "beltway elites" and "people inside the beltway"? How about "BB's" which, of course, stands for "beltway bastards"?

I am supporting Edwards as well he is less of a corporate Demo-rat than the others we are having shoved down our throats..

I have nothing against Obama but he can not and will not win a general election and I believe even Obama knows this in his heart..

Due to this I find his candidacy very suspect..!

Now Edwards still isn't there all the way yet and to many at his Blog site are still very short sighted and anal if I dare say, as to the true economic realities of this ever more competitive world..!

Edwards has not yet called for a Single Payer Health Care system an economic "no brainer" and great aid to our corporations viability and remaining here in the U.S., as well as our people's health over all..

The Nationalization of America's Oil Industry is a big one and so obvious as to the incredible benefits to our nations future and continued superiority world wide..

The worlds most powerful Oil industries and those growing fastest and those with the most leverage are state owned China and Russia..

Take Exxon-Mobil alone they took in $38 billion last year and spent $37 billion of it buying back their own stock and paying huge bonuses and obscene salaries while only re-investing $824 million in Oil infrastructure and alternate energy development and exploration..!

This is a huge waste of a great resource and that's only Exxon-Mobil not all the others as well so that a national single payer health care system could be easily established and great gains made in alternate and future energy sources developed..

The Edwards blog would not even allow this post I did in much greater detail to even appear and be considered..idiots and neophytes, I fear Edwards has some very short sighted and conventional advisers around him..

This nation yearns for bold leadership and far thinking individuals as leaders..that is so obvious..

Also if Edwards where to call for Border Security first and foremost before any Bill to address the invasion of illegals who are crushing our safety net with their weight..he would garner a huge number of Independent and also even Republican moderate votes..it's again a true "no brainer.."

It's a shame we have only the same old tired and worn out voices allowed to be heard in our Media, David is like a fresh breeze on a hot humid day..

I also believe David Sirota feels the coming Tsunami of discontent and even outrage from so many in our nation who now feel voiceless and betrayed and abandoned by the corporate Demo-rats and these insane theocratic Republican sycophants..

These are very dangerous times for Our Republic with just one signature of the pen it's gone due to Bush's latest Presidential Directives that allow him to declare emergency giving him full dictatorial powers over all government even tribal for God's sake..!

Our Congress had nothing to say to this and it is the greatest most dangerous Unitary abuse of power in American history..!

We are being betrayed and erased as the nation we have always been due to these secret deals and the slight of a pen, we die not with a bang but the proverbial whimper..!

We are all but undone..betrayed by both parties and all our so called leaders..

    Happy Memorial Day..!

This is great to hear. When someone stirs up vitriol from folks like that it often means that that person is bucking their collective will, refusing to play ball, a threat.

    Just what the Democrats need.

Personally, I like John Edwards because he is married to Elizabeth Edwards.

She is far more representative of what a principled professional American woman should look like than Hillary is...

If Edwards comes out against the secret and corporate trade bill and immigration bill he's a shoe-in among independents which means he gets the prize.

If he tap dances around either of these corporate abortions he's gonna lose a lot of the independents.

People are watching which way he goes.

That said, it was sad to see Obama bitch slapped around by McCain. There is so much dirt on this lunatic(McCain) that Obama could have easily torched this hot tempered whore. Hell even the AZ GOP is out for his blood given his betrayals.
