AP: Dems Suddenly Refusing To Pass Promised Lobbying Reforms

    From the Associated Press:

"House Democrats are suddenly balking at the tough lobbying reforms they touted to voters last fall as a reason for putting them in charge of Congress. Now that they are running things, many Democrats want to keep the big campaign donations and lavish parties that lobbyists put together for them. They're also having second thoughts about having to wait an extra year before they can become high-paid lobbyists themselves should they retire or be defeated at the polls. The growing resistance to several proposed reforms now threatens passage of a bill that once seemed on track to fulfill Democrats' campaign promise of cleaner fundraising and lobbying practices."

    One word: Disgusting.

Well its nice to see Pelosi and crew following in the footsteps of DeLay and Hastert and replicating the corrupt and indifferent Congress that Gingrich purged back in '94.

    G-d politicos are so predictable.

I don't know what they think they're doing. Mostly, we're seeing lip service to what I thought were democratic ideals at this point.

Something that I've begun to wonder about while watching them lately; could they be thinking that they can replace the progressive or populist voters with disaffected republicans and libertarians?

I was really offended by the pillars of the party and their public inaction and lack of support during the Leiberman/Lamont race. Their comments at the time were inadequate. Their actions nonexistent. I'm afraid that national level will be doing without my money. I'm putting my money on the local level only from now on.

This is no surprise to me whatsoever. I registered Green Party in my early twenties and never looked back. The Democrats prize their corporate cash more than anything.
With Democrats like these, who needs Republicans?

Democrats line these are Republicans. They just add another depth to normal Republican lying.
Get names, post names vote against the Republi-lites in the primaries, even if you have to start a write-in campaign. If they win the primaries, do a write in for the populist who was running against them. If there wasn't one, write in your cousin's yellow dog.
You may not get the candidate you want elected, but it will be a very, very strong showing of non-support.
The bottom line is, if they don't support us, we need to refuse to support them.
