Why Do Georgians Have to Die for McCain?
I feel sorry for the people of Georgia. They are being killed in large numbers as a campaign prop for the John McCain. It is increasingly clear that McCain has encouraged Georgia to take provocative actions and to believe that U.S. forces will support them against Russian tanks. Is this because his lead foreign policy advisor is a paid lobbyist for Georgia or because McCain really truly wants to go to war with Russia?

"... Georgia, as an independent, pro-Western nation was doomed when the European Union and the United States recognized the independence of Kosovo ... "
It is a wonder that mankind isn't constantly at war, if recognizing the independence of a democratically elected government is just cause for invasion. In that regard, what sense does your statement make in placing blame? If blame was that easily misdirected, mankind could blame the United Nations for all the wars and terrorism since WWII. Maybe that's why Obama wishes to use them to "solve" this expression of Russian fascism?
Now, you seem to switch blame to McCain, eh? That's true partisan-uber-alles, end-justify-the-means attitude shared by Hitler and Putin and some American Democrats ...
"The current conflict between Russia and Georgia ... demonstrate that the mainstream press is once again doing a bad job of explaining reality to the American people ..."
Well, it seems you are incorrect and since the main networks have all presented commentary to the effect that the USA is somehow responsible for forcing Russia to attack their neighbor. However, they are trying to blame the USA, as you do, and comparing our invasion of Iraq to that of Putin's fascism.
That's mainstream partisanship over reality-speak. Russia's attack is exactly the same as that done by Saddam Hussein - not by our, USA action in, deposing that genocidal tyrant and well-known murderer/rapist.
Saddam murdered his opponents, and Putin murders his opponents, invasion - invasion, repression - repression, tyranny - tyranny. All the comparisons are plain, obvious and AVOIDED by the mainstream media, and by Democrats, including yourself; as either a dupe or stooge for partisanship ...
"1. If Georgia's bid to become a member of NATO had been accepted, would NATO forces be massing now?"
No, because Russia is WEAK in comparison to NATO and those who might take advantage of a fight with NATO (Ukraine/Georgia, ET AL!) and they would NEVER have invaded, but which NATO's Chamberlain-like weakness obviated.
"2. Is McCain's testosterone laden response related to the lobbying contract with Georgia of his primary foreign policy advisor?"
Is lobbying in agreement with Democratic partisanship okay? Why raise strawman arguments when reality is so demanding of common sense? A show of dependence on the UN, controlled by Russian veto, is inane, in reality. So, is lack of "testosterone" your anti-testicular answer?
"3. why is Israel training the Georgian military?"
I would suppose that it prevents Russia from controlling all the oil pipelines from the ME, and which Iran has been trying to establish some hegemony over since this European life-line was established, and which is of vital interest to NATO and the future of European democracy. I also think you probably know this but fail to mention in your support of underiming Republicans, and cavalierly ignoring the real resurgent communistic, expansistic evil: Russian fascistic imperialism.
"4. what other superpower invaded a sovereign country in recent years over the objections of most of the world?"
Sovereign nation? Of course, you have to further ignore reality to assert that Saddam's Iraq was "sovereign" in any sense of that word
5. who benefited and who lost from the construction of the oil pipeline through Georgia to Turkey, designed to circumvent Russian territory?
"Sometimes world politics have no good outcome, and the situation in Georgia is likely to be one such case. I have the deepest sympathies for the people of Georgia."
You state the obvious and blame the only nation who is willing to support democracy and protect freedom in this reality, in this world ... at least half of America; while the rest muckrake a war for their selfish and partisan votes ...
I do not see a single fact supporting the allegations in the original blog, or in any of the responses. It does not seem plausible that any one man can be responsible for The situation in Georgia. Would someone like to make an intelligent case supported by verifiable facts?
" (lack of facts) ... or in any of the responses."
What "facts" did I fail to provide? This situation is entirely the responsibility of Russia, and it is obvious that shifting blame to political opponents, however reasoned, by those who are acting partisanly is not only a lie, but even worse in that holding party over nation actually subverts the nation's real-world security ...
The Big Lie will become truth, and just as the rote of the sea will disintegrate mountains. Neither, in any way conceivable, is deserving of pride for their results in entropy, and its various consequences.
