When Yahoo! Doubts Your Word...
Plenty of Americans have lost trust in the President, but defenders of the Bush administration will claim that CREDO, MoveOn, Keith Olbermann and other detractors form a liberal elite out of step with the mainstream.
We know that's not the case, that we represent a majority sentiment in America that wants our President to be honest about the business of our nation.
And now that fringe lefty group -- yahoo.com -- seems to agree.
When Yahoo! supersedes its articles on "Fake wrestling star tries real fighting in UFC" and "Three boys survive falling into frozen pond" with "935 false statements on Iraq," the President's deceptions have gone just about as mainstream as possible.
The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both.
We know that the VP was one of the masterminds behind this mass deception -- which is why it's time to hold him accountable and send a message calling for his impeachment. Then, we'll move on to George W. Bush, whom history will judge far more harshly than our media or timid Congress have been willing to do.
935 more reasons...if we needed more reasons...to change course in this war and in this country.
