Bush Threatens to Veto Aid to Workers Harmed by Outsourcing
At the same time the White House is pushing to vastly expand the job-killing, wage-destroying NAFTA trade model, we get this from Bloomberg News (no link):
"President George W. Bush may veto legislation to expand benefits for workers harmed by international trade because it would cover more workers than necessary, a White House statement said...Specifically, the Bush administration objected to a provision that would provide added unemployment insurance and training to service workers, such as x-ray technicians or call center workers, and expand a tax break to help unemployed workers pay for health insurance...'If this bill were presented to the president in its current form, the president's senior advisers would recommend he veto the bill,' the statement said."
If ever there was ironclad proof that this administration is waging a war on the middle class, this is it.

You could beat the GOP to death using this issue cause there is no political upside for the GOP position at all. It just remains to be seen if the Democrats have the brains and spine to beat the GOP into the ground with it.
Hypublicrits will spend money like drunken sailors (with apologies to drunken sailors)as long as it's not for people!

The aim of the Bush administration seems to be to establish a poor underclass to wait upon his rich and greedy corporate cronies.
However much Bush and his buddies fantasize about the alleged "superiority" of this privileged class, so far he is fast becoming a shining example of why the French overthrew Louis XVI in 1792.
Read your Tom Paine and see how the first double cross came about. Paine railed against a system of checks and balances, because the English kings easily circumvented and manipulated such a system. So what did we do. Put in a system of checks and balances. Bush has proved we have a president in name only; really a king. Paine favored enumerated rights such as those in the Bill of Rights. FDR knew this was not enough and proposed an Economic Bill of Rights. Without such a bill, we only have half of our rights. A system of political rights alone doth not a democracy make. It makes an oligarchy run be a temporary monarchy. Bush is a bad king as defined by Paine.
I am still getting an error message after I post. I sent an email to banukonda@wafs.com as requested with no results. The post is working, but it takes a long time before the error message comes up. What's the story? Anybody else having this problem?
