Props to Gov. Kulongoski
This is a great move by Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski (D) - not because its a good political move, but because it raises awareness about poverty and how meager America's social safety net really is.

It is nice to see a politician put his money where his mouth is, even if only for a little while.
It is far too often that politicians cling to their golden fleece (such as government health care benefits) and haggle over how impossible it is to create universal benefits while leaving the rest of us in survival mode, scrounging to meet basic family needs.
